Installation recommendations

Clean both threads before assembly — grit on a thread is what causes a joint to seize half made. Wrap PTFE tape in the direction of tightening, or use thread sealant, and make the joint up with proper pipe wrenches on both parts so the torque is not carried by the pump. Support the column while it is being lowered; never let the adaptor take a side load. Check the joint for weeping on first start-up, before the column is fully lowered.

Before you buy

How do I know which size I need?

Match the column pipe bore and the pump delivery thread — 2" and 2-1/2" cover most farm submersibles. If you are replacing a failed adaptor, take the old one to the counter; the thread form matters as much as the bore.

Why cast iron and not plastic?

This joint carries the dead weight of the whole column plus the water in it, and takes a shock every time the pump starts. Plastic has no business there.

Are your prices MRP or dealer rate?

Every price on this site is MRP, inclusive of tax. It is the same for everyone — there is no separate dealer login or hidden rate. For bulk quantities, send a bulk enquiry and we will quote on volume.

Why is GST 5% on some products and 18% on others?

Micro-irrigation equipment — drip and sprinkler systems — attracts 5% GST under Indian tax rules. General plastic pipe and fittings attract 18%. The rate that applies is shown on each product page rather than assumed.

Do I have to buy a whole box of small fittings?

No. Small drip fittings such as joiners and end caps arrive boxed — 100 to a bag, for instance — but you order in pieces and can buy a single one. The box quantity and its price are shown alongside the per-piece MRP so you can see both, and any product with a genuine minimum order states it on its page and on its data sheet.
